Implementation of Growth Plan for Moldova discussed with civil society, business community
Progress in implementing the Reform Agenda and the investment projects related to the Growth Plan for Moldova 2025–2027 has been discussed at a meeting held at the government. Attending the were representatives of public authorities, civil society and the business community.
Deputy Secretary General of the Government Lilia Dabija highlighted the importance of maintaining constant dialogue with civil society and the business community, noting that such meetings would be held quarterly or more frequently, depending on needs.
According to her, 40 reform measures are planned by the end of the year. During the meeting, 12 measures in three priority areas were reviewed: private sector’s development, connectivity and digital infrastructure, as well as economic governance. The participants in the meeting presented the progress in implementing the reform measures and the actions taken by the authorities to fulfill the commitments undertaken.
“We are making joint efforts with the responsible authorities to implement reform measures aimed at developing the private sector, improving connectivity and digital infrastructure, as well as strengthening economic governance. Our goal is for these reforms to generate concrete results for citizens and the business community,” emphasized Deputy Secretary General of the Government Lilia Dabija.
The discussions also addressed progress in implementing investment projects in priority areas, such as transport infrastructure, regional development, water supply and sanitation, agriculture, the modernization of irrigation systems and economic development. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of these investments for improving citizens’ living conditions and stimulating economic growth.
Deputy Secretary General of the Government Emilia Cebotari emphasized that the investments were aimed at modernizing infrastructure, improving public services, creating new jobs and increasing the competitiveness of the economy. “The constraint, fundamentally, lies not so much in accessing financing as in the speed of preparation and our capacity to deliver. How quickly we turn these investments into construction sites, services and jobs,” said Emilia Cebotari.
The meeting gave representatives of civil society and the business community the opportunity to ask questions, present proposals and discuss the challenges involved in implementing the reforms and investment projects.
The event is part of a string of periodic consultations organized to ensure transparency in the implementation of the Growth Plan for Moldova and the active involvement of civil society and the business community in monitoring the progress achieved.
