Moldovan president meets group of pupils Gagauz Autonomy, Taraclia district, participants in Romanian language camp in Iasi

President Maia Sandu has welcomed pupils from the ethnic minority communities of Moldova at the Presidency’s headquarters, who will participate in the Romanian language summer camp held in Iasi, Romania. The head of state emphasized the importance of learning the Romanian language, in order to facilitate integration and access to educational and professional opportunities.

The programme brings together 200 pupils of the Autonomous Territorial Unit (UTA) Gagauzia and Taraclia district, from grades IX–XII. During the programme, the young people will participate in intensive Romanian language learning sessions, interactive communication activities and a diverse cultural programme, which includes guided tours and discovering the historical and cultural heritage of the Iasi city. The camp was opened with the support of the Romanian Ministry of Education and Research and the Romanian Embassy in Chisinau.
