Communication skills in Romanian for adults and high school students to be certified nationally
A national certification mechanism for communication skills in the Romanian language for adults and high school students will be established in the Republic of Moldova. The government has approved a decision to this effect.
The skills assessment will be conducted through an exam structured into four parts: listening comprehension, reading comprehension, written expression, and oral expression. The maximum score that can be obtained is 120 points, and the proficiency level will be determined according to European standards, ranging from beginner to advanced (A1 - C2).
Students from non-Romanian-speaking educational institutions will have the possibility, after taking this test, to be exempted from the baccalaureate exam in the Romanian language.
Individuals who pass the assessment exam will receive a certificate, issued within a maximum of 10 working days from the date of the exam.
The certification of communication skills in the Romanian language will contribute to promoting social cohesion and facilitating the professional and educational integration of individuals who pass the exam. By offering official recognition of one's language proficiency level, the mechanism supports the creation of new opportunities for participation in the labor market, academic environment, and public life.
