Moldova, Council of Europe strengthen cooperation in key areas for European integration
Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu today met Head of the Council of Europe's (CoE) Office in Chisinau Falk Lange. The official appreciated the progress of Moldova on the European path and assured that the country would continue to benefit from the CoE's assistance in implementing reforms.
The PM expressed gratitude for the constant support provided by the Council of Europe in the European integration process, in promoting democracy and in ensuring the rule of law.
In discussions, officials highlighted the strategic importance of the Action Plan for Moldova 2025-2028, which provides assistance in priority areas: justice reform, combating corruption and disinformation, protection of human rights and ensuring good governance.
At the same time. in the context of the regional situation, the dignitaries noted the need to strengthen efforts to enhance resilience to hybrid attacks and disinformation, and analyzed the possibility of developing a joint action plan.
Starting from November 14, Moldova took over the presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe. A string of activities aimed at strengthening democracy, defending human rights, continuing to counter disinformation and continuing support for Ukraine will be carried out during the next six months.
