Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu today met Moldovans’ community in Stockholm (Sweden), highlighting the involvement and responsibility of young people in following the political processes in Moldova.
“I was pleased to meet again Moldovans settled in Stockholm. Even though our community is not very large, I met once again some extraordinary, active and engaged young people who closely follow the political developments back home,” said Igor Grosu.
Most of the participants are students or professionals in such fields as IT, medicine, commerce, or construction. During the meeting, the parliament speaker discussed the current situation in the country, the challenges and threats faced by Moldova, while also answering questions about energy security and medium to long-term development plans.
Grosu also emphasized the essential role of the Diaspora in supporting the European path of Moldova.
“At the latest elections, Moldovans both at home and abroad showed through their vote that we have only one path – to be part of the European family. Together with such young people, wherever they are, we will succeed in bringing the European Union to our home, shaping a secure and dignified future for ourselves,” the parliament speaker stressed.
The participants in the meeting reconfirmed the commitment of Moldovan authorities to maintain a constant dialogue with the Diaspora and to involve the young community in development and European integration processes.
Speaker Igor Grosu today participated in the fourth edition of the Parliamentary Summit of the Crimea International Platform, hosted by the Swedish Riksdag (parliament). The event brought together presidents of national parliaments and interparliamentary organizations.
