President Maia Sandu has participated in the Moldovan-French Business Forum, where she conveyed a message to investors: Moldova is open for business and provides attractive opportunities to French companies.

"Moldova is no longer just a small country on the edge of Europe. We are an EU candidate state, reforming the economy and providing clear advantages for investors who choose to be the first on this market in the process of modernization. Now, time is ripe to invest in Moldova," said the head of state in front of the French business community.

Over 180 French companies registered for the five sessions within the forum, which addressed the energy, transportation and infrastructure, health and pharmaceutical industry, agriculture, agro-food industry and technological innovations sectors.

Maia Sandu highlighted the measures by which the Moldovan government improved the business environment, digitizes public services and reduces bureaucracy. Moldova has one of the most competitive tax regimes in Europe, proving significant facilities for strategic industries, such as information technologies, automotive components manufacturing, electronics, pharmaceuticals, and agro-food industry.

The head of state underlined the existence of competitive industrial incentives, including state aid of up to 60 per cent for investments in key sectors, such as the automotive, electronics, pharmaceutical, agro-food, textiles, chemicals and construction materials industries. Tax and social security agreements between Moldova and France ensure stability for companies and employees.

The IT Park from Moldova attracts more and more international companies thanks to an advantageous tax regime and investments in renewable energy present both commercial opportunities and contribute to long-term economic security. At the same time, Moldova's strategic position and access to an extensive market of 500 million consumers through free trade agreements make the country a suitable hub for production and export.

At the forum, President Maia Sandu reaffirmed the strong relationship between the two countries: "Moldova and France share a deep friendship, based on trust, common values and a commitment to a strong, competitive and forward-looking Europe. We will continue to deepen this partnership and companies will be among the first to benefit. When political relations are strong, economic ties also prosper."
