PM says every achievement on European path result of work Moldovans do at home
Every achievement got on the European path is the result of the work we do here at home. European integration means better roads, modernized schools and hospitals, investments, jobs and more opportunities for people. The future of Moldova is in the European Union. Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu made statements to this effect, in the context of today’s second European Union–Moldova Summit, held in Brussels.
The PM underlined that the today’s Summit was a reconfirmation of the efforts made by Moldova on its European path, following the opening of the first negotiation cluster, which took place in Luxembourg last week.
“Last week, Moldova opened negotiations on the first group of chapters in the process of accession to the European Union. Today, in Brussels, European leaders reconfirmed that this path continues,” said Alexandru Munteanu.
The official noted that, in relations with the European Union, no one offers us anything out of courtesy and each step is based on important reforms.
“Every achievement is the result of the work we do here at home. We are talking about reforms and stronger institutions. European integration means better roads, modernized schools and hospitals, investments, jobs and more opportunities for people. We still have a lot of work to do. But today, we know that when Moldova delivers results, they are recognized. The future of Moldova is in the European Union!” concluded Prime Minister Munteanu.
The second Moldova – European Union Summit took place in Brussels today. It represents a high-level dialogue format established by both sides and reflects the increasingly close partnership between Moldova and the EU, as well as the firm commitment to the country’s accession to the EU. This year’s meeting is taking place one week after the official opening of accession negotiations on the first group of chapters, “Fundamental Values”, marking a new stage in the country’s European path.
The Brussels Summit is the second of its kind between Moldova and the European Union. The first high-level meeting took place in Chisinau on July 4, 2025.
