PHOTO // Moldovan parliament speaker has official meetings at government of Czech Republic

Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu has had meetings with Karel Havlíček, Czech Deputy Prime Minister for Industry and Trade, as well as with Deputy Prime Minister, Defence Minister of the Czech Republic Jaromír Zůna. The official talks took place at the government of the Czech Republic today.

According to the speaker, the discussions with Karel Havlíček focused on economic relations between the two countries, bilateral trade and Czech investments in Moldova.

“Today, more than 45 companies with Czech capital are operating in our country, and our goal is to attract even more investments, including in strategic areas, such as energy and modern technologies,” stated Igor Grosu.

The official also discussed cooperation in the field of defence with Minister Jaromír Zůna.

“In recent years, Moldova has strengthened its capabilities and is becoming an increasingly credible partner for European security. We greatly appreciate the support of the Czech Republic for the modernization of the National Army and the training of our military personnel. We will continue to develop bilateral relations, to harness the full potential of cooperation between Moldova and the Czech Republic and to contribute together to building a stronger, safer and more resilient European space,” added Igor Grosu.

Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu pays an official visit to the Czech Republic on June 22–23, this year, at an invitation of his Czech counterpart, President of the Senate, Miloš Vystrčil.

The agenda of the visit includes meetings with officials of the Czech Republic, with discussions focusing on strengthening bilateral relations, interparliamentary cooperation and support provided to Moldova in the process of European integration.
