Last day of electoral campaigning before parliamentary elections on 28 September

Today is the last day for electoral campaigning for the parliamentary elections, which will take place on 28 September.

According to the Electoral Code, electoral campaigning is strictly prohibited on election day and the day before it. During this period, candidates are also not allowed to appear on television or radio shows. Additionally, local public administrations and advertising broadcasters are required to remove electoral advertising materials. This ban does not apply to information already posted online. Moreover, electoral competitors cannot make transfers to or from the account labeled 'Electoral Fund.'

According to the Contravention Code, continuing electoral campaigning on the mentioned days by mass media, electoral competitors, and citizens constitutes an administrative offense and is punishable by a fine of up to 3,000 lei for individuals and up to 7,500 lei for legal entities.

On 28 September, parliamentary elections will take place in the Republic of Moldova. Citizens are expected at the polls to elect the deputies of the future Legislature.
