Moldovan Central Electoral Commission announces documents required for electors to vote at parliamentary elections
Citizens eligible to vote, both domestically and abroad, will be able to cast their votes at the parliamentary elections by using various identity documents.
According to the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), the documents include: the national identity card, the identity card of the citizen of Moldova; temporary identity card, provisional identity card; the passport of the citizen of Moldova, even if it is expired, provided that no other legal circumstances have rendered it invalid.
At the same time, on the election day, the territorial subdivisions of the Public Services Agency will operate on a special schedule as of 07:00 trill 21:00, and at the request of citizens over the age of 18, who do not have the necessary identity documents to exercise their voting rights, temporary identity cards will be issued free of charge and already manufactured identity documents will be handed over.
CEC reiterated that voters would present themselves at polling stations with physical identity documents.
The parliamentary elections will take place on September 28, this year. Citizens will come to the polls to elect the lawmakers for the next parliament.
