Summoning of Moldovan Ambassador to Russia: Chisinau's reaction
The decisions on the accreditation of international observers are made in accordance with the national legislation and international commitments of Moldova, in order to guarantee a free, fair and transparent electoral process. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) of Moldova today made statements to this effect, after the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned Moldovan Ambassador to Russia Lilian Darii.
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova confirms the summoning of the Moldovan Ambassador to Moscow. The Moldovan authorities are taking all necessary measures to ensure the integrity and transparency of the parliamentary elections due on September 28, 2025," the institution said.
Ambassador Lilian Darii received a protest note regarding the "unjustified refusal" to accredit representatives of the Russian Federation as international observers at the parliamentary elections due on September 28, this year.
