
Socialists' party announces candidates for new parliamentary elections in Moldova
Chisinau, 21 August /MOLDPRES/ – The Socialists' party (PSRM) will advance candidates in 03 of 04 constituencies in which new parliamentary elections will be held on 20 October. The announcement has been made, on Wednesday, 21 August, by the leader of PSRM, Zinaida Greceanii, at the end of the meeting of Republican Council (CR) of PSRM.
According to quoted source, PSRM will forward Pavel Artamonov to Nisporeni, which also ran for the elections on 24 February, while in 33rd constituency – Svetlana Popa, and in Transnistrian region – Vitalie Eftodi, also ex – candidates for parliamentary elections.
Grecianii specified the Socialists not to have a candidate in the 50th constituency, the Western Diaspora. "There is no point in wasting our efforts and we shall not participate," said Grecianii.
President Igor Dodon also attended the meeting of CR of PSRM, and told journalists that he had discussed with the former party colleagues several topics, including preparation of the party for autumn elections. "We have established candidates for 90 – 95 per cent of the mayor's offices in the country. In all districts, there are already candidates for positions of mayors and city councilors,” said Dodon.
