Exhibition dedicated to medical employees launched in centre of Moldova's capital
Chisinau, 19 June /MOLDPRES/ - Over 100 photos have been inaugurated at an exhibition titled, Strange things happen, opened at the entrance into the Stefan Cel Mare Park from the centre of the Moldovan capital. The event was organized by the Chisinau city hall and a photo reporter of the MOLDPRES State News Agency, Mihai Vengher, who made more works dedicated to medical employees.
„This is an exhibition dedicated to the day of the medical employee and pharmacist; it is for the second time when the Chisinau city hall launches and conveys the emotions and support for the employees of the medical system. The first one was in last October, on the Chisinau Dedication Day, when we expressed gratitude to those who endangered their lives in the fight against Covid. At present, we watch an evolution and see all stages of physicians’ work, beginning from hospitalization and ending with the birth of the child,’’ the Chisinau deputy mayor, Angela Cutasevici, said.
For his part, the exhibition’s author, Mihai Vengher, said that this initiative was rather a professional mission of photo reporters ‘’to be also in the first line and immortalize everything which happens now and here for the future.’’
Mihai Vengher was among the first journalists of Moldova who was infected with Covid-19 and was put in a hospital in a quite serious condition. He was both a patient and a professional, who made, just on the hospital bed, a string of photos showing the first line of fight against the new-type coronavirus.
Subsequently, the MOLDPRES State News Agency Public Institution, in partnership with the Chisinau city hall, on 14 October organized a topic-related exhibition titled, The heroes of our days. We help them, so that they can help us, on the square of the Birth of God Metropolitan Cathedral.
Mihai Vengher was born in the Colicauti village, northern Briceni district, on 2 December 1962. In 1989, he graduated from the Journalism Faculty of Moldova’s State University. Starting from the same year, he was employed at the MOLDPRES State News Agency. Vengher is author of numerous photographs included in the album of unique value, Parlamentul Independenței (The Parliament of Independence). During the Transnistria War, he was always on battlefield with his camera. The pictures taken by the photographer on that period were published in the national and international media, in the book Transnistria în flăcări (Transnistria in flames) by Gheorghe Budeanu and Râul de sânge (The blood river) by Valentina Ursu. Mihai Vengher is member of the Union of Art Photographers and Fine Artists Union of Moldova. In 2016, under presidential decree, Mihai Vengher was awarded the Maestru în Artă (Master in Art) honorific title ‘’for long and prodigious work in mass media, contribution to the development of the photographic art and high artistic mastership.
