Moldovan citizen detained in Moscow for alleged terrorist activities
A Moldovan citizen has been detained and charged in the Russian Federation for allegedly participating in the preparation of a terrorist act. The information was presented to the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in the Russian Federation by the authorities in Moscow.
The diplomatic mission has requested more information from the responsible authorities in order to establish the circumstances of the case.
“In order to ensure the rights of the citizen of the Republic of Moldova, the Embassy has submitted the necessary requests to the competent authorities of the Russian Federation to obtain relevant information on the case and to arrange a meeting between the consular official and the detained person,” the mission said.
The authorities announced that they will provide additional information on the case after the circumstances are clarified.
Last week, the Russian press reported the detention of three people, including a Moldovan citizen, suspected of involvement in the preparation of a terrorist act that was allegedly thwarted by law enforcement bodies.
