Students passionate about drawing invited to take part in Doctor – Through Eyes of Child contest launched by Nicolae Testemițanu USMF

Nicolae Testemițanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy (USMF) is holding the 6th edition of the drawing contest “Doctor – Through the Eyes of a Child.” Pupils from primary and secondary education institutions, including schools and lyceums with an arts profile are invited to participate.

The contest aims to promote health-related professions – doctor, pharmacist, dentist, nurse, physical therapist, optometrist – by fostering creativity and highlighting the artistic talent of children. The activity is coordinated by the University’s Department of Communication and Public Relations, which is responsible for organizing, conducting, and summarizing the results of the contest.

Participants will compete in three age categories: primary education (7–10 years), gymnasium (11–14 years), and lyceum (15–17 years and 18+). Three winners will be selected in each category. Pupils are encouraged to create a work – drawing, painting, or collage – that reflects their emotions and vision regarding the professions in medicine and pharmacy, health education, and a healthy lifestyle.

Works may be created in A3 or A4 format and sent by post or submitted in person at the institution’s headquarters by June 7 of this year, to the Central Teaching Block, with children accompanied by an adult.

The evaluation of the works will take place between June 8–9 and will be carried out by a jury of five members, based on criteria such as the technique used, the originality of the drawing, and the artistic message conveyed. Only original works created individually will be evaluated and appreciated; works inspired from the internet or from previous editions of the contest will not be examined.

The awards ceremony will be organized on the eve of the Medical and Pharmacist’s Worker Day, traditionally held on the third Sunday of June. All contest participants will receive electronic certificates, while the winners will be awarded diplomas and branded products from “Nicolae Testemițanu” USMF.

The best works by pupils will be displayed in an online gallery. The original works will be selected for various institutional projects: banners, greeting cards dedicated to professional days of health specialists, world days for health promotion and disease prevention, and thematic exhibitions. In all cases, copyright will be respected, with the author’s full name and educational institution indicated.
