Operations at Chișinău International Airport temporarily suspended after fire alarm activation

The operations of Eugen Doga International Airport – Chișinău were temporarily suspended on Sunday evening, January 18, 2026, at around 22:40, after the fire protection system was triggered in an area inside the terminal, following the activation of an alarm button by an unidentified person.

According to the airport administration, all passengers and employees were immediately evacuated to ensure safety. Power supply teams intervened to reconnect the affected systems. No fire sources or smoke emissions were detected on site. All airport premises, including the waiting lounge, were checked by firefighting teams, who ruled out any danger to people or infrastructure.
