
Sappers neutralized 72 explosives in September
Chisinau, Oct. 6 /MOLDPRES/- National Army sappers neutralized 72 explosive devices throughout the country in September.
According to the Ministry of Defense, sappers carried out 12 demining missions. Following them, artillery projectiles, hand grenades and cumulative hits were detected and destroyed - 72 explosives, as well as 943 cartridges of different calibers.
The dangerous objects were discovered in Chisinau, Căușeni, Ialoveni, Basarabeasca, Sîngerei, Edineț, Fălești, Anenii Noi, Ungheni and Dubăsari. The largest amount of ammunition was found near the village of Plop-Șiubei, Căușeni district, where 37 hand grenades and 943 cartridges were found and destroyed. The explosive objects, dating back to the World War II, were destroyed under maximum security.
The data of the Ministry of Defense show that since the beginning of the year until now, engineers have destroyed 947 explosive objects and 11,258 cartridges.
