PHOTO World Children's Day marked at all customs checkpoints in Moldova

World Children's Day is celebrated today at all border customs checkpoints through a symbolic gesture dedicated to the honorees of the day. Customs officials greeted children crossing the border with reflective bracelets and keychains, offered as a sign of care and attention.

“It's a simple gesture, but with a clear message: children's safety matters – at home, in traffic, and on every journey. Through this symbolic gesture, we want each child to feel seen, protected, and encouraged to explore the world safely,” Customs Service director Alexandru Iacub said.

According to the official, the reflective items offered are not just gifts – they are messengers of safety and responsibility, values that the customs authority constantly promotes.

At all customs checkpoints, officials received the young passengers with smiles and good thoughts, showing that customs are not just a place of control but also a space of care and humanity.

World Children’s Day is celebrated annually on 1 June in the Republic of Moldova. The event is celebrated in accordance with the Declaration of the Rights of the Child, adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1959.
