Sleet, snow forecast for coming days in Moldova: National Roads Administration urges caution in traffic
A cyclone will bring various types of precipitation, including sleet and snow, on the days to come. Under these conditions, the National Roads Administration (AND) has advised drivers to exercise caution in traffic and assured that intervention teams stayed on duty around the clock, ready to act promptly to maintain traffic safety.
Road maintenance crews will intervene both preventively and operationally by spreading anti-skid materials to combat slippery surfaces, clearing and removing snow from the roadway, responding quickly in case of blockages, promptly managing emergency situations and ensuring continuous monitoring.
For the safety of all road users, road workers recommend adjusting speed to road conditions, maintaining an appropriate distance between vehicles and complying with road signs and the instructions of the authorities.
Citizens who need up-to-date information about road conditions or want to request road maintenance interventions can contact the Operative Service, available 24/7, at the following phone numbers: (+373) 78 337 744 and (+373) 60 477 117 (also available on Viber/WhatsApp).
Meteorologists forecast light mixed-phase precipitation for January 22. Patchy light fog and light glaze ice are expected. Black ice will be present on roads.
