
Twenty children from south-eastern Moldova district hospitalized after intoxication with tear spray
Chisinau, 11 December /MOLDPRES/ - Twenty five children from the village of Talmaza, south-eastern Stefan Voda district, today morning were put in hospital in the wake of intoxication with tear spray.
According to the press service of the National Public Health Agency (ANSP), the incident took place at the Anatolie Sirghi gymnasium from Talmaza. Preliminary information shows that a pupil of the eighth form opened a balloon with tear spray at the second floor of the school, the content of which had about 150 use doses. The balloon was subsequently thrown in the school’s WC.
After a short period, more pupils had symptoms specific for intoxications and 25 of them were put in the district hospital with nausea, vomit, coughing, headache, dizziness, feeling of burn of the respiratory ways and conjunctivitis. The children’s state is satisfactory.
ANSP specialists warn parents and inform that, in the last three years, this has been the second case of mass intoxication with chemical substances; the last one was registered at the lyceum from the Costesti village, central Ialoveni district.
