Chisinau, 20 February /MOLDPRES/- Drivers with cars registered abroad who want to enter the territory of Moldova can buy vignette online on vinieta.gov.md or evinieta.gov.md.
According to a press release by the Transport and Road Infrastructure Ministry (MTID), the vignette can be paid at any bank branch Moldova Agroindbank, a 7-lei- commission or 1.5 per cent of the vignette. If payment is made by card, no additional fee will be charged.
Last week, a working meeting was held at MTID to test the new service. Vignette payment verification will be carried out by customs officers just at the exit from Moldova, while on the territory of the country this competence is for the National Patrol Inspectorate and mobile teams of the Customs Service.
Actions of amending vignette purchase were made following an instruction of Prime Minister Pavel Filip in order to remove queues at border checkpoints. Currently, the fee for vignette is 4 euros for seven days, 8 euros – 15 days, 26 euros – 30 days.
