Young employees in strategic industries to get monthly bonus of 3,000 lei
Young people entering their first jobs in industries of strategic importance will receive a salary bonus of 3,000 lei from the government. The support will be provided monthly for a year. The program was launched today in Chișinău, and the authorities aim to use the new support measure to reduce youth migration, facilitate the transition from studies to work and encourage employment in key sectors of the national economy.
The program is aimed at young people up to 35 years old who have a degree and are employed full-time. The application process will be fully digitalized through EVO app. Young people will become eligible after employment, the decision to grant the payment will be issued automatically, and payments will be made monthly.
The industries included in the program are the electronics industry, the chemical and pharmaceutical industry, the automotive industry, the textile and clothing industry, the construction materials industry, the food industry and the creative industry.
Present at the launch event of the new program, Prime Minister Dorin Recean urged young people to stay and work at home and take advantage of the opportunities offered by the authorities.
'We are striving to offer young people opportunities. We want you to stay home and that's why we launched the program: to give you a chance, to give your parents a chance, to give entrepreneurs looking for qualified people a chance. We have over 300 companies that have expressed their willingness to participate in the program and several thousand potential employees,' the prime minister stated.
Deputy Prime Minister Doina Nistor noted that the initiative was launched to give entrepreneurs the opportunity to identify and retain dedicated employees, and to support young people in finding a job and earning a motivating salary.
'We know that the biggest challenge for companies is talent and the greatest asset for economic growth is intellectual and human talent, our people. We want as many young people as possible to find themselves in companies, in our national industries, because that brings economic growth. The program is intended for industrial revitalization,' emphasized Doina Nistor.
Minister of Labor and Social Protection Alexei Buzu mentioned that in recent years, more and more young people choose to stay and work at home.
'In a record time, we initiated an innovative and useful mechanism for both our young people and employers. I'm sure that next year, the number of eligible industries and sectors will be expanded, because we will all see in a very short time how relevant and useful this program is. In recent years, more and more young people are giving Moldova a chance. There's a narrative that young people are leaving Moldova, but when we look at the numbers, we see that more young people are opting to stay in the country. Starting next year, we will double the investments in professional training, job adaptation, subsidized employment, and will invest more in mobility programs. All these things will address both the needs of our young people and the needs of employers,' emphasized Alexei Buzu.
Director of the National Employment Agency Raisa Dogaru announced that the institution will offer support and inform young people about the benefits of the new program, eligibility criteria and the steps that must be followed.
The authorities estimate that about 4,000 young people will benefit from this Program by the end of the year.
The initiative is part of BUGET PLUS project, which was presented by Prime Minister Dorin Recean in early April, being the largest financial package ever allocated by the Moldovan Government for investments and economic growth. It includes financial resources totaling 8 billion lei. The resource allocations were made possible due to support from the European Union.
