Chisinau, 15 June /MOLDPRES/- The National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) today rejected the request for a 10.6 percent increase in the average tariff for drinking water and sewerage services submitted by Apa-Canal Chisinau company.

According to the decision, presented by Alexandru Mija, the head of the ANRE Department of Tariffs and Economic Analysis, "there are no objective factors that would increase or reduce the tariff for drinking water and sewerage services."

The company also requested an increase in the tariff for water supply and household sewerage services by 13.5 percent from 10.69 lei to 12.13 lei per cubic meter. The water supplier and sewerage services in the capital motivated by raising the minimum wage, increasing the maintenance and depreciation costs, and reimbursing a credit granted by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development to modernize the networks.

The last adjustment of the tariff for drinking water and sewage services was operated in May 2017, when the average tariff was increased by 6.3 percent.
