Bălți to have modern thermal energy and hot water distribution system financed by EBRD
A modern horizontal distribution system for thermal energy and hot water will be implemented in the residential blocks of Bălți municipality. Members of the Economy, Budget, and Finance Committee have examined a draft law regarding the ratification of Amendment No. 1 to the Loan Agreement concluded in 2021 between the Republic of Moldova and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
The document provides for the redistribution of the unspent amount of 1.5 million euros, initially intended for repaying historical gas debts, to the component aimed at modernizing the thermal energy infrastructure in Bălți.
With this investment, over 22,000 apartments will be connected to the new distribution system, allowing for individual management of thermal energy consumption, enhancing the thermal comfort of residents, and ensuring efficient supply of domestic hot water.
The amendment also provides for the extension of the availability period of the funding until December 31, 2027.
It is to be submitted for approval by the Parliament.
