Fewer unemployed in Moldova: Over 4,800 people found jobs

A total of 4,851 unemployed people have found jobs since the beginning of 2026 through the territorial employment subdivisions of the National Employment Agency (ANOFM). Overall, since the start of the year, 16,006 people have found jobs.

Of those employed, 4,851 were unemployed persons, accounting for 30.3% of the total. Another 346 people were hired as day laborers or for a fixed term of up to three months.

The largest share of people found jobs in other community, social and personal service activities, which accounted for 35.7% of all hires. Agriculture represented 17.2%, while wholesale and retail trade made up 14.5%.

Other sectors where job seekers were employed include industry – 8.1%, public administration – 5.4%, construction – 4.9%, health and social care – 4.1%, education – 2.8%, as well as transport, storage and communications – 2.2%.

ANOFM data show that women account for 42.6% of the 16,006 employed people, or 6,817 individuals. At the same time, 2,909 people, or 18.2%, are aged 55 and over, and 277 people, or 1.7%, are persons with disabilities.

Among those employed are also 76 migrants who returned from abroad and 51 Roma people.

Of the 4,851 unemployed people placed in jobs, women represent 52.6%, or 2,550 individuals. The majority, 58.5%, are residents of rural areas. At the same time, 1,356 people, or 28%, are young people aged between 16 and 35, and 937 people, or 19.3%, are aged between 55 and 63.

Of all the unemployed people who found work, 277 are persons with disabilities, 61 are migrants who returned from abroad, and 51 are Roma persons.

ANOFM recommends that job seekers contact the territorial employment subdivisions of ANOFM to benefit free of charge from employment services and active labor market measures.
