PM invites Ukrainian companies to invest in Moldova
The Republic of Moldova aims to attract investment from Ukraine in manufacturing, logistics infrastructure and transport, offering companies access to the European Union market through Romania. The subject was discussed on Monday by Prime Minister Vasile Tofan and Invest Moldova Director Natalia Bejan with more than 100 entrepreneurs from Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa and Dnipro. The official also presented the example of Nova Post, which has approximately 650 employees in the Republic of Moldova and paid more than 60 million lei in taxes in 2025.
Representatives of major companies attended the meeting with Ukrainian entrepreneurs, including ATB, Ukraine’s largest retailer, Biosphere, a household goods manufacturer, and Kormotech, a regional leader in pet food production.
“Many of them view Moldova as an additional production and logistics platform, complementary to Ukraine—and that is exactly the opportunity we want to develop. Our message was simple: come invest in Moldova, produce here, create jobs and use our country as a platform toward Romania and the EU market,” the prime minister said.
During the visit, Vasile Tofan also discussed the expansion of investment in logistics and transport infrastructure with the founders of Nova Post.
“I also spoke with the founders of Nova Post—an excellent example that this model is already working. The company currently has approximately 650 employees in Moldova and paid more than 60 million lei in taxes in 2025. Volodymyr Popereshnyuk, one of the two founders, was born in Chișinău and has a special connection to Moldova. We discussed expanding investment in logistics and transport infrastructure and using Moldova as a testing ground for new solutions developed by the group. The Nova Group, which includes Nova Post, is now a company with revenues of more than one billion dollars, tens of thousands of employees and operations in numerous countries. I would like an increasingly significant part of the next stage of growth for such Ukrainian companies to take place in Moldova,” the prime minister said.
According to Vasile Tofan, attracting investors must produce concrete results for the national economy by developing production and logistics capacities, increasing exports and boosting budget revenues.
On Monday, Vasile Tofan paid a working visit to Ukraine, accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Vladimir Bolea, Minister of Defense Anatolie Nosatîi and Minister of Energy Dorin Junghietu. The program included meetings with Ukrainian officials and participation in Kyiv International Economic Forum, dedicated to investment opportunities and the development of economic cooperation.
