Moldovan top commercial bank ranks among best financial institutions in Central, Eastern Europe
Chisinau, 21 March /MOLDPRES/-The prestigious Global Finance magazine acknowledged Moldova Agroindbank (MAIB) as the best bank in Moldova in 2016. MAIB is the only Moldovan financial institution on the ranking of World’s Best Emerging Markets Banks in Central & Eastern Europe 2016.
Banks have been selected based on the growth dynamics of their assets, profitability, quality of client strategic relations, competitive prices and innovation products. Besides “Global Finance” editors, industry analysts, directors and banking consultants, magazine’s readers had also had their say in the selection of best banks from this side of Europe, thus ensuring a high level of the ranking’s exactness and reliability.
Global Finance editor and editorial director, Joseph D. Giarraputo, said world banks continued to cope with a high amount of risks, including geopolitical ones, volatile economic and market conditions and changes in regulation regimes. “We pay homage to those banks that successfully meet the expectations of their clients and are mostly committed to their activity markets, despite the uncertain conditions the are facing,” Giarraputo noted.
“The ranking confirms the correctness of MAIB’s strategy and responsibility for its clients, as well as innovations allowing us to align with the rapid changes taking place on the Moldovan and world markets,” the head of MAIB’s management board, Serghei Cebotari said.
MAIB obtained the highest profit of 130.6 million lei, 40.7 per cent of the total banking system, on the internal market in February 2016. MAIB also holds the maximum amount of assets (26.43 per cent), gross loans (29.1 per cent) and demand deposits (30.1 per cent).
Global Finance is a specialized international magazine annually ranking the best world financial institutions. An amount of 21 banks were included on the current issue of World’s Best Emerging Markets Banks in Central & Eastern Europe.
