Reconstruction of terminal at Chișinău International Airport begins on 30 June - Deputy Prime Minister says
In 2024, the number of passengers at Chișinău International Airport (AIC) exceeded 4.2 million, and by 2025 we will have five million passengers. About 20% are citizens from Ukraine, the rest being from our country, so given this trend, there is a need for the reconstruction of the terminal. Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development (MIDR) Vladimir Bolea made the statement at a TV show.
“In 2025 we will have five million passengers, which requires the reconstruction of the terminal. On June 30, 2025, we will launch the new terminal reconstruction project, we will renovate 5,000 square meters. Evidently, in the meantime, a new terminal needs to be built, necessary for passenger comfort, with new runways, but this requires considerable financial resources. At the current stage, we don't have these funds, but from the existing resources, we must ensure maximum comfort for passengers, as far as possible,” Bolea stated.
Chișinău International Airport returned to state management in the spring of 2023.
