United States, Romania, Germany among main markets for Moldovan IT services
The United States, Romania and Germany are among the main markets for IT services exported from Moldova. In 2025, exports to the United States totaled 237.4 million euros, while those to Romania and Germany reached 64.3 million euros and 55.2 million euros, respectively. In total, Moldova’s exports of IT services amounted to 742.7 million euros, up by almost 21 per cent compared with the previous year, MOLDPRES reports, citing the National Bank of Moldova (BNM).
The European Union remains the most important export market for Moldovan IT services, with its 27 member states accounting for 38.4 per cent of total exports in 2025. The value of services delivered to the EU market exceeded 285 million euros.
“Among the EU member states, Romania ranks first, with IT services exports worth approximately 64.3 million euros. Germany ranks second, with 55.2 million euros, followed by Belgium, with 28.2 million euros. Together, the three countries imported Moldovan IT services worth approximately 147.7 million euros, accounting for more than half of total exports to the European Union,” the BNM explains.
Other important destinations within the EU include Cyprus, with approximately 18.9 million euros, the Netherlands, with 18.4 million euros, Ireland, with 17.3 million euros, and Italy, with 14.3 million euros. IT services from Moldova also reach France, Spain, Poland, the Baltic states and other EU member countries.
Outside the EU market, the United Kingdom is another important destination for Moldovan IT exports. In 2025, deliveries to the country totaled approximately 108.6 million euros, while exports to Switzerland amounted to 29.3 million euros, the cited source said.
According to data for 2025, Moldova’s total exports of IT services increased from 615.4 million euros in the previous year to 742.7 million euros. The increase amounted to approximately 127.3 million euros, equivalent to annual growth of nearly 21 per cent.
The European Union’s share of total Moldovan IT exports has remained relatively stable in recent years, ranging between approximately 36 and 40 per cent. The data highlight the IT sector’s focus on foreign markets, particularly European ones, as well as the importance of non-EU partners for Moldovan companies.
