Moldovan deputy PM for reintegration says gradual reintegration process to allow establish formula through which Transnistrian region to be represented in country's administrative structure
The gradual reintegration process will allow us to establish the formula through which the Transnistrian region will be represented in the administrative structure of Moldova. Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Valeriu Chiveri today made statements to this effect following the government meeting.
According to the official, the reintegration process will be gradual and will allow for the establishment of the form of administrative representation for the Transnistrian region: either through a special status or through districts that will later be attached to regions, in accordance with the new administrative reform.
“At this stage, we cannot tell you how the region will be administratively represented. We discussed this issue carefully with our colleagues and agreed that it would be addressed at a later stage. The gradual reintegration process will allow us to establish the formula through which the region will be represented in the administrative structure of Moldova,” Valeriu Chiveri emphasized.
The deputy PM also stressed that “the administrative reform process is an internal one and is not being discussed with representatives of the structures in Tiraspol.”
The reform of local public administration is part of the country’s administrative reorganization process and aims to strengthen the capacities of mayoralties, so that they can manage public services and local development projects more effectively.
