Moldova's state secretary for reintegration has meeting group of students, young professionals
State Secretary for Reintegration Ivan Turcan today met a group of students and young professionals from various fields, who were on a study visit to the Reintegration Policies Bureau.
The discussions focused on the current situation in the Transnistrian settlement process, the priorities for the country’s reintegration and the prospects for bringing the two banks of the Dniester closer together in the context of Moldova’s European path. The sides highlighted the positive role of Moldova’s European integration process in supporting the gradual reintegration of the Transnistrian region into unified national spaces—economic, social, educational, and others—, as was the expansion of the benefits of both processes to the region’s residents.
Respect for human rights and ensuring freedom of movement were also specifically addressed. The participants in the meeting emphasized the importance of guaranteeing and ensuring equal rights and opportunities for all citizens of Moldova, including access to public services and national protection mechanisms, regardless of their place of residence.
Ivan Turcan appreciated the young people’s interest in reintegration issues and emphasized the contribution that the new generation of specialists can make to promoting dialogue, strengthening trust between residents on the two banks of Dniester and advancing European values.
