Moldexpo Director Zinaida Popa invited farmers and domestic producers to take part in the exhibitions, which will highlight both agricultural innovations and local products and traditions.

“Moldagrotech and Farmer 2026 are where agricultural tradition meets the technology of the future,” the organizers said, presenting this year’s concept, The Territory of a Rich Harvest. The event will bring together more than 150 companies at Moldagrotech and approximately 250 exhibitors at Farmer and the Golden Autumn fair. The exhibitions will cover an area of more than 10,000 square metres, occupying the complex’s two indoor pavilions and outdoor spaces,” Popa explained.

Visitors will be able to see more than 1,000 units of machinery, equipment and technology, ranging from tractors and agricultural machines to drones and smart technologies. A specially arranged area at the exhibition’s entrance will illustrate the evolution of agricultural mechanization by presenting a vintage tractor alongside a state-of-the-art model.

“Modern agriculture can no longer mean only hard work and experience. High-performance machinery, smart solutions, digitalization and technologies that make farmers’ work more efficient are needed,” said Vasile Sarban, State Secretary at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry.

The official underscored the importance of modernizing the agricultural sector amid climate change and developments on sales markets.

“For Moldova, it is very important to have developed and sustainable agriculture, especially in the context of climate change and market conditions. Agricultural producers must use the most advanced technologies, in order to reduce production costs, increase quality and become competitive,” Vasile Sarban said.

He noted that farmers can receive support for purchasing agricultural machinery and equipment. According to information presented by the organizers, the state subsidizes up to 50 per cent of eligible costs, while farmers can also access financing mechanisms and programmes, such as the Agency for the Development and Modernization of Agriculture (ADMA), IFAD programmes, Moldova’s Orchard and the AGRI project, supported by the World Bank.

The exhibitions also provide the opportunity to speak directly with suppliers, compare offers and negotiate commercial terms, including discounts for purchasing equipment.

In addition to machinery and equipment displays, the programme will include domestic products, activities dedicated to traditions and demonstrations meant to highlight the potential of local producers.

One of the events announced by the organizers is The Great Cheese, scheduled for Friday, October 16, at 12:00, as part of the Farmer 2026 exhibition. In cooperation with the National Farmers Federation of Moldova, one of the participating companies will prepare an impressively large cheese, with the aim of setting a national record.

According to the organizers, the product will be lifted into the air with the help of a drone in a demonstration that will combine the promotion of a traditional product with the use of modern technologies.

The Moldagrotech and Farmer 2026 exhibitions, together with the Golden Autumn fair, can be visited at the Moldexpo International Exhibition Centre from Chisinau during October 15-18.
