President Maia Sandu visited the southern part of the country today. During the visit, the head of state inspected the construction work of the bypass road in Vulcănești. She emphasized that the project will reduce traffic and ensure a direct connection with Giurgiulești port.
“Today I am in the south of the country. Earlier, I visited the site where pillars for Vulcănești-Chișinău power line are being assembled, a line that will strengthen our energy security and free us from energy blackmail. At the same time, work is underway for the bypass road in Vulcănești to ease city traffic and make the journey to Giurgiulești safer,” stated the head of state.
The President emphasized that in Gagauzia, like in the entire country, authorities are investing in important community projects.
“In the autonomy, in general, we have funded 30 projects in various localities with a total value of 150 million lei to provide water, build sewage systems, and extend street lighting in various villages and towns in Gagauzia,” said the head of state.
Maia Sandu also provided several examples of implemented projects, noting that solar panels have been installed in Beșalma and Cotovscoe, while the school in Cazaclia and the cultural center in Etulia have been renovated.
Moreover, the president had a meeting with employees of a winery in the southern part of the country.
“I discussed with the employees how our wine sector is developing and what the future prospects are. We are pleased with every achievement in the private sector and when we manage to improve living conditions in the country's towns and localities. We will continue at the same pace,” stated the head of state.
Maia Sandu also visited the site of the Vulcănești–Chișinău overhead power line today. She emphasized that this is one of the most important energy projects launched since independence.
