
EU experts to visit Chișinău to assess how national authorities managed corruption cases
Ministry of Justice announced that it has received a notification from the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova on the initiation of a peer review mission of the national authorities, in the context of monitoring the fight against corruption and organized crime. This mission, organized by the European Commission, will take place on 17-21 March 2025.
According to the Ministry of Justice, the experts from 5 - 6 EU member states will visit Chișinău to analyze how national authorities have managed specific completed cases from the investigation stage to the pronouncement of the judgment.
The recommendations formulated following the assessment will be included in a report that will be presented to national authorities, the European Commission and EU member states.
The ministry notes that the mission is part of the European Union's enlargement process and continues the peer review of the justice system and the fight against organized crime and corruption, conducted by the European Commission in 2023.
