Moldovan leadership meets EU ambassadors, development partners of Moldova

President Maia Sandu, Prime Minister Dorin Recean and Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu have had a meeting with the ambassadors of European Union states and the development partners of Moldova. The officials discussed the Growth Plan for Moldova, the reform agenda and measures to enhance the country's regional, energy and cyber security, as well as the significant steps Moldova has taken towards EU accession.

"We are on the right path and it is up to all of us to continue on this common journey, which provides all Moldovans with three essential things: peace and safety, stability and national unity and economic development and welfare. We are working for Moldova to become an EU member state not in 10 or 20 years, but in the next 4. It won't be easy, but it's not impossible. We will succeed through internal unity and external solidarity," said Prime Minister Dorin Recean.

Referring to the Growth Plan for Moldova, worth 1.9 billion euros and funded by the EU, Prime Minister Dorin Recean emphasized that this support was an opportunity to accelerate the pace of reforms’ implementation and involved tangible measures for all residents of the country.

"This is an important component of our plan to join the European Union; it will help us increase productivity, have a robust economy, higher salaries and better living conditions for all citizens," said the PM.

The officials also discussed the situation in the energy sector and ongoing projects that will enhance the country's energy security, such as the Vulcanesti-Chisinau power line. The interlocutors also referred to efforts to combat misinformation and propaganda, which are boosting in the context of the elections due in next autumn.
