Residents of Moldovan villages without ATMs can withdraw cash from bank cards directly in shops
Residents of rural areas without ATMs will be able to withdraw cash from their bank cards directly in shops. The stipulation is included in a draft law approved by the parliament in the first reading today.
Thus, merchants who have payment devices in shops will be able to dispense cash directly from the applicant's card. Specifically, any person holding a bank card will be able to make a purchase in the store and ask for a withdrawal of up to one thousand lei per transaction, with a monthly limit of 100,000 lei.
The draft also stipulates that economic agents will be able to use virtual cash registers and electronic fiscal receipts. This initiative, implemented for the first time in Moldova, aims to reduce administrative burdens and support the activities of entrepreneurs, especially those in rural areas.
Also, the approved amendments target the introduction of a mechanism in legislation to attract digital nomads. These are qualified professionals who work remotely for overseas companies or manage businesses using digital technology.
According to the authors, each digital nomad will contribute about 186,000 lei annually to the state budget through taxes and levies they will pay. At the same time, this mechanism will attract specialists from abroad of various fields into Moldova and create conditions for businesses to migrate from other jurisdictions to Moldova.
Also, the mechanism for granting temporary residence permits on work purposes to foreigners working in the IT sector in Moldova will be updated.
The parliament is to approve the draft in the second reading.
