Moldova appreciated for progress on European agenda
Deputy Prime Minister Cristina Gherasimov and Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos discussed the recommendations of the European Commission and the necessary steps for continuing progress on the European agenda.
“I was pleased to meet Marta Kos again and review together the conclusions of this year's Enlargement Report. Moldova is appreciated for the results achieved and the good progress made in several areas, including justice, energy, education, digitalization, and regional development,” stated Cristina Gherasimov.
The Deputy Prime Minister added that the discussions also focused on the Commission's recommendations, as well as the necessary steps for Moldova to continue advancing on the European agenda “with the same determination and pace.”
“I thanked Commissioner Kos for the constant support, for the trust shown, and the appreciation for our people and country,” Gherasimov emphasized.
On November 4, the European Commission adopted the annual Enlargement Package, evaluating the progress made by partner countries in the last 12 months on the path to European integration. The document notes that the Republic of Moldova has made significant progress, completing the technical screening stage and meeting the conditions for opening several negotiation clusters.
