DOC // More safety for citizens: National Crime Prevention and Combating Program published in Official Journal
The authorities aim to create a safer environment for citizens through concrete measures to reduce violence, protect life and property, support victims, and protect vulnerable groups. The objectives have been included in the National Crime Prevention and Combating Program for the period 2026-2030, which was published today in the Official Journal.
The program represents a firm commitment by the state to protect the life, property, and fundamental freedoms of citizens and to strengthen internal security in line with European Union standards.
The initiative comes with a multidimensional approach, which includes the integration of modern technologies, the development of advanced investigative techniques, enhanced international police cooperation, and data exchange with European law enforcement bodies. Special emphasis is placed on combating cybercrime, digital violence against women and children, and reducing the influence of organized crime networks.
The funding for the actions stipulated in the Action Plan for implementing the National Crime Prevention and Combating Program for the years 2026-2030 will be carried out within the limits of the allocations approved for this purpose in the budgets of the involved authorities, as well as from other sources, according to the regulatory framework.
The decision regarding the approval of the National Crime Prevention and Combating Program for the years 2026-2030 will come into effect on January 1, 2026.
