Deputy PM says Moldova stands firm against hybrid challenges, continues its European path

Moldova has recently managed to withstand all hybrid threats and challenges, continuing to advance on the European integration agenda. Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov has made statements to this effect at a meeting in Brussels with Peter Wagner, head of the European Commission's Foreign Policy Instruments Service (FPI).

The discussions focused on Moldova's achievements in the process of joining the European Union, as well as future priorities in the context of strengthening the state's resilience.

"We discussed what we have achieved at home so far and the future priorities in our European journey. We talked about how Moldova had managed to face all the challenges and hybrid threats, and how we can continue to rely on FPI's support in strengthening resilience, an important aspect for completing the reforms on the European agenda," said Cristina Gherasimov.

Thus, the deputy PM and Gert Jan Koopman, Director-General of the Directorate General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations (DG NEAR), discussed the latest developments on the European agenda and the level of readiness for opening accession negotiations. At the same time, Cristina Gherasimov met European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos, in order to discuss the conclusions of the 2025 Enlargement Report, in which Moldova is praised for its achievements and constant progress in the fields of justice, energy, education, digitalization and regional development.
