Moldova, Ukraine synchronize EU accession steps

The synchronization of the steps of accession to the European Union and bilateral cooperation in the reform process have been discussed at a meeting between Moldova's Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov and Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, Taras Kachka.

During the meeting, held in Brussels, the two officials analyzed the next steps on the European agenda, following the completion of the bilateral screening - the process of evaluating the compatibility of national legislation with the European Union’s one.

"We talked about the next steps on the European agenda, following the completion of the bilateral screening. We continue to exchange experiences, collaborate and implement reforms that will positively change the lives of our citizens," said Cristina Gherasimov.

According to the deputy prime minister, Moldova and Ukraine have a common vision for a European future.

"Moldova and Ukraine share the same priorities - to become part of the European community, where people enjoy peace, safety and prosperity," emphasized the official.

Cristina Gherasimov is on an official visit to Brussels on October 14-16, where she participates in a string of high-level meetings on the EU enlargement process and strengthening cooperation with European institutions.
