
Nordic, Baltic countries provide 3.1 million dollars to strengthen institutional resilience of Moldova's Foreign Affairs Ministry
The Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE) is set to strengthen its institutional resilience. A technical assistance project titled, Improving Crisis Management and Cyber Resilience of MAE, was signed in Chisinau on October 15.
The initiative is funded by the Nordic and Baltic countries (NB-8) – Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway and Sweden. The overall value of the project is 3.1 million dollars.
The document was signed by Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs Minister Mihai Popsoi and the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Moldova Daniela Gasparikova.
It aims to support the strengthening of institutional capacity, in order to ensure the continuity of diplomatic activities during the management of various international crises, in accordance with international standards, through the modernization of diplomatic procedures and infrastructure, as well as the enhancement of cybersecurity of MAE.
“This support on behalf of our Nordic and Baltic partners represents a strategic investment in the safety and efficiency of diplomatic work, which will bolster the MAE's capacity to manage international crisis situations, with a focus on protecting the citizens of Moldova abroad,” said Mihai Popsoi.
The project will be implemented by the United Nations Development Programme, which will ensure the coordination of activities and efficient resource management, in accordance with international standards.
