EU supports Moldova in developing agriculture and adapting to climate change
European Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Christophe Hansen met today in Chisinau with President Maia Sandu to discuss opportunities for developing the country's agricultural sector.
According to the EU delegation to Moldova, the topics discussed during the meeting included the modernization of agriculture, adaptation to climate change, and facilitating access of Moldovan products to the European Union market.
Officials emphasized that the opening of European markets depends on Moldova aligning with European standards, including those concerning pesticide use and harmonizing legislation in the field.
“Agriculture is not just a source of food but also a driver of sustainable development and people's well-being. The European Union remains a steadfast partner of Moldova in efforts to transform the agricultural sector,” said Hansen.
