Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu participated today in Fruit Business Conference in Moldova, organized by Moldova Fruct Association. The event brought together over 300 producers, exporters, experts and technology suppliers from Moldova's fruit-growing sector. Now in its eleventh edition, it serves as a platform for dialogue, experience exchange and commercial solutions for every link in the value chain: from production to export.

The official said that in recent years, the Republic of Moldova has ranked among the top 20 global exporters for products such as plums, walnuts, cherries, apricots, rapeseed, apples and grapes. According to the Prime Minister, the success is due to farmers who have invested in modern orchards, state-of-the-art technologies and post-harvest infrastructure, as well as the opportunities opened up by the European market.

'The European Union is becoming an increasingly important market for Moldovan fruits each year. Our farmers have demonstrated that they can consistently deliver larger quantities at high standards. Moldovan fruits belong on store shelves in Europe and worldwide, and Moldovan farmers belong among the most respected and competitive producers,' said the Prime Minister.

Additionally, the Prime Minister mentioned that the government will continue to work to ensure expanded access to sales markets, development of the irrigation system, stimulation of investment in processing, promotion of local products, and increased competitiveness of agricultural products: 'We need you to be the leaders of this process, and we will be your trustworthy partner. When you are profitable, communities prosper, budgets grow, and the name of Moldova becomes synonymous with quality.'

Participants in the conference discussed the development of exports and market diversification, current trends in fruit-growing technologies, modern solutions for quality, and measures to enhance resilience to climate change.
