Moldovan PM, U.S. Senators discuss partnership between Moldova, United States
Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu today had a meeting with United States Congressional Delegation (CODEL) Senators Jeanne Shaheen and Chris Coons. The officials discussed the partnership between the two countries, joint projects, and the regional security context.
The PM expressed gratitude for the support provided by the United States, highlighting, in particular, the projects aimed at enhancing the energy security of Moldova. The U.S. will provide 130 million dollars for the construction of the Straseni–Gutinas electricity transmission line. In the context, the American senators praised the significant progress made by Moldova in consolidating its energy independence, strengthening the resilience of the country and reinforcing state institutions.
The prime minister underlined that the government’s current priorities are advancing on the European path, boosting economic growth, enhancing security, and preserving peace, while the support of external partners is essential to achieving these goals.
Alexandru Munteanu also encouraged active participation of American businesses in the economy of Moldova.
