PM meets Ambassador of Egypt to Moldova
Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu has welcomed and wished success to new Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Moldova, residing in Bucharest, Mohammed Moustafa Orfy, who today presented his accreditation letters to President Maia Sandu.
The officials discussed ways to expand the bilateral cooperation, in particular in the fields of infrastructure, energy and agriculture. They also talked about opportunities to strengthen economic and investment cooperation. At present, 39 enterprises with Egyptian capital are registered in Moldova, with total investments amounting to 9.85 million lei.
During the meeting, the PM highlighted Moldova’s intention to open a diplomatic mission in Cairo and the Egyptian diplomat expressed interest of the Arab Republic of Egypt to establish an embassy in Chisinau.
The diplomatic relations between Moldova and the Arab Republic of Egypt were established on 13 February 1992.
