Moldovan president has meeting with group of U.S. senators
President Maia Sandu today had a meeting with a delegation of members of the United States Senate, led by Senator Jeanne Shaheen. The delegation also included Senators Richard Blumenthal, Sheldon Whitehouse and Chris Coons. The discussions focused on bilateral cooperation, the situation in the region, and Moldova’s efforts to strengthen its resilience and advance its European path.
The president thanked the United States for its continued support to Moldova, including through investments in national security and the energy sector.
The interlocutors also discussed developments in Ukraine and underlined the need to step up restrictive economic measures against Russia, in order to put an end to the war.
