Books donated as part of 2025 edition of Library under Christmas Tree campaign reached libraries across country
The books collected during the fourth edition of Library under Christmas Tree campaign have been delivered to the beneficiary school libraries across the country.
In total, over 8,000 books were collected and distributed to 89 educational institutions, including a kindergarten, while another 3 boxes of books are to be delivered to a residential care center for older people and persons with disabilities in the country. The books intended for school libraries in villages were delivered during one day, with the support of the state-owned enterprise Moldova Post Office.
In this edition, the beneficiaries selected were school libraries in villages where the number of students in the institution does not exceed 300. “We are glad to receive this book donation, because we have not been able to replenish our library collection for a long time. I am sure that now children will come to the library more often, when they see how many new and interesting books we have received. We thank all those who got involved and donated these much-needed books for our gymnasium,” librarian of Cărbuna Gymnasium in Ialoveni district Valentina Domenti said.
The Government extends its thanks to all participants in the campaign – employees of public institutions, private companies and non-governmental organizations, citizens and children, all those who donated book sets, which can now be read by thousands of children across the country.
The government launched Library under Christmas Tree campaign in 2022. Its purpose is to donate books to support education, reading and access to culture among children in the country. In total, around 25,000 books have been collected over the four years.
The list of all institutions receiving book sets as part of the 2025 edition of Library under Christmas Tree campaign can be found in Annex 1.
