Moldovan deputy PM for reintegration conveys messages of appreciation to people on behalf of Moldova in charge of maintaining peace, rule of law in Security Zone
Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Valeriu Chiveri has taken part in a ceremony organized at the Independent Infantry Company of Moldova’s Peacekeeping Forces, stationed in Varnita village, central Anenii Noi district.
On this occasion, the deputy PM for reintegration conveyed messages of gratitude and high appreciation for the work carried out in the Security Zone by the military contingent of the Peacekeeping Forces on behalf of Moldova, the Moldovan delegation to the Joint Control Commission (JCC) and the officials from all national public institutions (central, territorial, local), who make a daily contribution to maintaining peace, security and the rule of law in this area.
The official highlighted the dedication and ongoing efforts of Moldovan soldiers and civil servants to preserve a peaceful environment, protect fundamental human rights and freedoms, and safeguard constitutional values, the sovereignty and the territorial integrity of Moldova.
At the same time, the deputy prime minister advocated for changing of the current peacekeeping model and replacing it with a civilian mission with an international mandate, which would play an important role in the country’s reintegration process. According to him, such a mission would help strengthen trust between the two banks of the Dniester River and create more favorable conditions for identifying a peaceful and lasting solution to the conflict.
Moldovan peacekeepers and civil servants who distinguished themselves through impeccable service and outstanding professional results were decorated with honors and certificates of merit, as well as with military ranks.
