PM meets European Union Ambassador to Moldova

The Government of the Republic of Moldova

The government will continue implementing reforms and will maintain the accelerated pace of the European Union accession process. Prime Minister Vasile Tofan has reaffirmed this commitment during his meeting with European Union Ambassador to Moldova Iwona Piórko.

The officials discussed the next stages of the accession process, the implementation of the Reform Agenda and the Growth Plan for Moldova, as well as the strengthening of the cooperation with European institutions.

The PM highlighted the significant progress made by Moldova in the process of European integration, including the opening of Cluster 1 – “Fundamental Values” and Cluster 6 – “External Relations.” These results reflect the reforms carried out, the strengthened institutional capacity and the firm commitment of the authorities to advance on the European path.

At the same time, the prime minister noted that Moldova was ready to open all the remaining negotiation clusters and to move forward quickly and substantially in the accession process.

"Moldova has proven that it can deliver reforms and results. We are ready to open all the remaining clusters and to continue negotiations at an ambitious pace. We want to deliver concrete results for citizens and the business environment – more investment, modern infrastructure and better-paid jobs," said Prime Minister Vasile Tofan.

Ambassador Iwona Piórko reaffirmed the European Union’s support for the European path of Moldova and for the implementation of reforms. The sides emphasized the importance of maintaining direct dialogue and close coordination, in order to advance negotiations and achieve the agreed goals.
