Moldovan PM, fuel market participants discuss measures to secure domestic market
The uninterrupted supply of Moldova with oil products and the implementation of the new measures approved by the government have been the main topics discussed by Prime Minister Vasile Tofan at a meeting with fuel importers.
The discussions took place in the context of the introduction of a 30-day state of alert in the energy sector, a decision taken against the backdrop of regional disruptions, declining diesel stocks and rising international prices.
“Our priority is to maintain a stable supply of fuel at the pump, at a fair price, especially in the peak agricultural season. We aim to work in close coordination, in order to unblock imports and protect the domestic market,” said Prime Minister Vasile Tofan.
During the meeting, the sides analyzed support instruments for streamlining logistics, such as prioritizing customs clearance, creating green corridors at the border and conditioning re-exports through the Port of Giurgiulesti on ensuring minimum national stock levels.
At a today’s extraordinary meeting, the cabinet of ministers introduced a state of alert in the energy sector for a period of 30 days.
